Strictly Elvis No. 1 (May, 1968)
Provided by Paul Richardson
Long before The Man And His Music, there was STRICTLY ELVIS. Seen by many as the best Elvis magazine published during Elvis’ lifetime. And rightfully so!
In the UK (serving the whole of Europe for that matter) Elvis Monthly had become a household name in the Elvis world since 1960. But in Elvis’ homecountry his fans were still in need of a professional and well written magazine. In 1968 STRICTLY ELVIS saw the light of day and filled this gap, operated by someone who has deserved the respect of fans all over the world: ROCKY BARRA. Rocky was close to the flame, and his accurate first hand reports of what was going on in Elvis’ career are still a huge delight to read, over 45 years later.
In the very first issue of Strictly Elvis be sure to read about the following:
– Strong rumors indicating the release of a Sun EP.
– Elvis recorded the song Now Is The Hour for Paradise, Hawaiian Style.
– An interview with Georgie Young, who served with Elvis in Germany.
Issues of STRICTLY ELVIS currently on ECHOES:
STRICTLY ELVIS No. 1 (May, 1968)
STRICTLY ELVIS No. 2 (June, 1968)
STRICTLY ELVIS No. 4 (August, 1968)

My sincere thanks and respect goes to ROCKY BARRA.
