Strictly Elvis No. 1 (May 1968)
Provided by Paul Richardson
Long before Elvis The Man And His Music, there was Strictly Elvis, seen by many as the best Elvis magazine published during Elvis’ lifetime. And rightfully so!
In the UK and Europe, Elvis Monthly had become a household name since 1960. But in Elvis’ homecountry his fans were still in need of a professional magazine. In 1968 Strictly Elvis saw the light of day and filled this gap, operated by someone who has deserved the respect of fans all over the world: Rocky Barra. Rocky was close to the flame, and his accurate first hand reports of what was going on in Elvis’ career are still a huge delight to read, 50 years later.
In the first issue of Strictly Elvis be sure to read about the following:
– Strong rumors indicating the release of a Sun EP.
– Elvis recorded Now Is The Hour for Paradise, Hawaiian Style.
– An interview with army buddy Georgie Young.
My sincere thanks and utmost respect goes to Rocky Barra.

For someone who became a fan after Elvis had died, it’s a delight to read this and realize how exciting it must have been to receive this 1st copy of Strictly Elvis, it was such a pivotal time in both his career and personal life. Thanks!
Nice to see these, years since I read them, great work Paul.
Elvis Presley returns from US Army duty in 1960. The focus of much of his work after his return is on his movie career and recording associated soundtracks.
Hi! I own the whole series of “Strictly Elvis” and “Strictly Elvis Generation”.
I am really proud of it. And they are all in “near mint” condition.
