Also a few words from me.
First of all, I would like to mention Ed ‘Our man in Havana’ Verhaar, who had to put up with our extraordinary wishes for a couple of months while building this site for us. In the end Ed was able to present us with a site that was totally up to our demands and wishes. Our sincere thanks go to Ed, well done brother!
While Ger is mainly in charge of the content of the first three sections on Echoes, I take care of Hollywood Revisited as well as the All Things 50’s section.
However, our work here will always be the result of a partnership that is based on mutual respect and our shared interest in the glorious 50’s. It is our goal to be different from other sites and present you with topics and content that is either interesting, entertaining, collectible and/or just plain cool. And all of this comes wrapped in a refreshing layout.
Alright, let me finish by saying that Ger has just completed an interesting new topic about the ’56 Florida tour (Down In The Alley) with the main focus on the first day in Jacksonville.
It’s well worth a visit people!
Stay tuned to Echoes!

Welcome to our first (and long overdue) Editorial!
Bob and I got aquainted while both frequenting the same Elvis forum. When the love affair came to an abrupt end, we felt the time was right to do our own thing, and especially in our own way: an Elvis site that would focus primarily on the 1950’s. This is how Echoes Of The Past was born. It’s the phase in the Presley career we care for and love the most. But both the early 60’s, as well as the late 60’s, are very dear to us as well. However, we draw the line in 1969.
Echoes is our little playground, where we will share whatever has our interest. This includes vintage Americana in general, but without ever losing focus on Elvis Presley.
So, anything new and interesting posted here in recent days? Well, yes! In the past week we were happy to present From Memphis To Honolulu, it features a rare unknown ad for the Memphis ’61 shows. And also PART 2 of our Richmond ’56 restrospective went online. As well as some rare collectibles from Loving You and Jailhouse Rock.
Keep an eye on Echoes, and bookmark this site, as we will have interesting new topics coming your way!
And if you feel you have anything to contribute, please be our guest! Our email-address is at the bottom of the Homepage.
Comments are also very welcome.
We hope you will enjoy this place. Until our next editorial, all the best and cheerio!
